Day 5 — Revision, Presentations & Close
Friday 4 September · 09:30–13:00 (ends before Jummah)
Shape of the morning
Day 5 is deliberately short. One hour of revision, then the room belongs to the participants. Nothing new is taught today.
| Time | Session | Material |
|---|---|---|
| 09:30–10:30 | Revision — the week in one hour | 01-week-in-review.qmd |
| 10:30–10:45 | Tea | — |
| 10:45–12:45 | Group presentations | 02-group-presentation-brief.qmd |
| 12:45–13:00 | Evaluation, certificates, closing | ../../instructor/pre-training-evaluation.xlsx (post form) |
ImportantThe one-hour rule
The revision hour is a recap and troubleshooting slot, not a sixth teaching day. If a topic needs more than five minutes, it goes on the follow-up list rather than into the hour.
What the revision hour covers
The whole week is one pipeline. The hour walks it once, end to end, in about ten minutes per link, leaving twenty minutes for open Q&A:
- Acquire —
read_csv(),haven, APIs,pdftools,rvest(Day 1) - Wrangle — the dplyr verbs,
.by=,join_by(), pivots, AI-assisted cleaning (Day 1) - Measure — indicators, weights,
gt/gtsummary, CPI splicing and index numbers (Day 2) - See — ggplot2, plotly, gganimate (Day 2)
- Model & map — regression with survey weights,
sf,tmap,leaflet(Day 3) - Report — Quarto, parameterised rendering, dashboards (Day 4)
After the workshop
